Process of creating Tileable 3D Mesh for Cave/Dungeons/Terrain/Wall

Since I have loved dungeon crawlers since I can remember I wanted to research on how to create a 3D tileable mesh along with all its maps (color map, normal map, cavity, ao map and spec map). I was able to create everything in Zbrush then retopologize it in Maya and bake all the maps in Maya as well…Below are the different steps taken through Zbrush and Maya…

Well here is the almost finalized concept…I will be submitting it to friends for feedback and see what I can do with the feedback :)

Series: Day of the Dead Character Concepts

My next project is to redesign my Tribal Warrior Character.  I wasnt sure at the time what direction I was heading style wise.  I did not want her to reflect any current “blue” skin toned characters but instead to set her apart.  In doing so I have decided to make a male version as well to better captivate the power between both.  This is a work in progress concept below…

Day of the Dead – quickSketch

Before Halloween I came up with this quick sketch for my costume.  So I was a Day of the Dead/Sims character.   I decided this would be a great theme for my “Tribal Warrior” character that is in WIP.

Inspiration after playing Borderlands

Long ago someone once showed me the game Bioshock.   To see the emotion that echoed after seeing that person played bioschock left me wondering about the world of games.  Ever since then I was intrigued by how a game could reach out to someone and evoke an emotion.  So I purchased Bioshock 2 and played it recently.  Thereafter I played Borderlands 2.  I became inspired and in the thoughts of that memory so long ago I created these little guys.

I first sketched out my ideas then followed that with wire armature.  Once I sculpted the models and textured/detailed then it was baking time.  During that time I began to get my color palette ready with acrylics.

Testing :)

So this is the first phase of what will be a continous flow of artwork and to help show my process as well.
